If you are like me, you are a bit curious about DNP programs. What does a DNP offer nurse practitioners? If you decide to pursue the DNP degree, which school will be right for you? Check out this video interview with University of Michigan DNP student Andreea to hear her perspective on the DNP experience at U of M.
In Spring 2013, Andreea Toader will be one of the first graduates of the University of Michigan School of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing (DNP) program. Andreea says the flexibility of the program eased her ability to stay on schedule for a timely graduation, while keeping her full-time job in community mental health. Her research interests are primarily schizophrenic patients in the community and type 2 diabetes. She says she was drawn to the DNP program because it was a new opportunity to expand nursing practice and it will give her the knowledge and skills to take evidence based research and apply it in her work setting.
University of Michigan offers excellent nurse practitioner programs, from DNP and MSN programs to unique dual degree programs. Interested in applying to the DNP program at U of M’s School of Nursing? You’re in luck! The application deadline for entry in Fall 2013 ends April 5 so you still have time to apply.
