This is an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner interested in working in the emergency department or inpatient setting in the future. Or, simply for a nurse practitioner who enjoys variety in his/her role. Rarely do new grad NPs have the opportunity to experience both primary care and ER settings in the first year of their careers.
The Nurse Practitioner will work primarily in the primary care clinic. ER and hospital coverage opportunities are also available as the NP feels comfortable. The clinic provides comprehensive primary care services to the community. In the ER, most visits are related to auto or farm/ranch accidents, sports injuries, and COPD. Most ER patients are transported to a larger facility after evaluation.
Schedule is for weekdays from 8 am - 5 pm. Weekend coverage for the ER rotates among providers. NPs are encouraged to participate in occasional weekend coverage as they gain autonomy. Experience and comfort level will dictate whether the NP participates in ER coverage.
You may not have all the clinical knowledge you need at this point in your career, but willingness to help out goes far in this position! The environment is very collaborative. Must be a team player who is motivated to learn. No experience required but prior ER or clinic experience is helpful. Must have a Montana state license.
If you’re attracted to the frontier, this is the place for you! Eastern Montana is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream! Enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, boating and more. Discover some of the greatest natural and cultural treasures on earth. The people are friendly and welcoming, and the community is a great place to live and raise children. Did we mention, there’s no sales tax in Montana?
