Here's a Unique NP Residency Opportunity in Los Angeles

Are you looking for a nurse practitioner residency out west? Are the beaches and ocean of sunny California calling your name? If Los Angeles seems attractive, we just might have a NP residency opportunity that’s right for you.

In this week’s featured residency opportunity, the matched nurse practitioner will work in a clinic that is faith-inspired with a commitment to serving all in the community including a special focus on accessible care for the homeless. The NP in this assignment will be a ‘street’ provider, traveling to local homeless shelters and encampments. The nurse practitioner will travel with a team of 3-4 including a social worker and medial assistant. Basic healthcare such as some labs and wound care will be provided on site. For other required medical series the NP will connect the patient with care at the clinic. The nurse practitioner will be the only provider on the team, but will have plenty of back up from other street providers who will serve as mentors as well as the clinic supervisor who is an experienced NP.

This facility loves nurse practitioners and has an active plan for onboarding inexperienced providers in conjunction with our residency-like program, Midlevels for the Medically Underserved. If you haven’t yet heard of Midlevels for the Medically Underserved (MMU), you can think about the program like a residency for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. You match with a facility that is a supportive place to learn and kick off your career while also participating in a didactic curriculum, ThriveAP, to boost your clinical knowledge. If you like the sound of being a street provider nestled comfortably in-between the coast line of the Pacific Ocean and the Angeles National Forest, this opportunity just might be for you. To see what Midlevels for the Medically Underserved and California have to offer apply here
