Weekend Wrap Up 7.29.16

It's Friday! What do you have planned for the weekend? I'm heading out of town to hit up the lake with family. I'm looking forward to the fresh air, clear water, and cool evening temperatures. And, of course, the food. Until then, the level of work-related motivation I have resembles the quote in this picture. If you could use a distraction as you wait out the workday, check out this week's more interesting medical news stories.

Weekend Wrap Up 7.22.16

Happy Friday! How has your week been? Mine has been busy, busy, busy, here in Nashville prepping for the upcoming Midlevels for the Medically Underserved Kickoff, as well as working in the emergency department. Temperatures here in Tennessee are topping out around the 100 degree mark these days, so seeking refuge indoors with my laptop is a welcome pastime. If you, too, are seeking some relief from the heat, crank up the AC and check out this week's more interesting medical news stories to get you through to the weekend.

Happy (almost) weekend! I'm excited for a well-balanced time at home over the next few days. A few social events and a handful of projects around the house should keep me just the right amount of busy. If you've got a little down time this afternoon, kick off your weekend by checking out this week's more interesting medical news.

Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? I'm headed out of town, hitting up Chicago with friends. It's been years since my last trip to the Windy City, and I'm excited to experience Chicago's restaurant scene, beach, and shopping on famous Michigan AVE again. The getaway will be the perfect mix of sightseeing and relaxation. If you're looking for some reading material to fill in the gaps this weekend, check out the following medical news stories.

Weekend Wrap Up 6.17.16

Happy Friday, folks! This week sure has whizzed by. I have to say, after a few out of town stints, it has been nice to have a full work week back at home and feel a semblance of routine returning. This weekend I plan to take on a few house projects. I'm most excited to see how my bathroom paint job turns out, and least looking forward to cleaning out the garage. What's on your agenda for the next few days?

Weekend Wrap Up 6.3.16

Have I ever told you all how much I love summertime? It's my jam. From afternoons lounging by the pool to weekend lake trips, or even simply dining al fresco under some twinkle lights, I can't get enough of the outdoors this time of year. The hotter, the better if you ask me. This weekend I'm tagging along on my husband's business trip, joining him in the Golden State. With temperatures in the 90's, I think I'll be doing more pool-dipping than wine tasting this Napa Valley weekend. What are you up to?

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I hope you have plans to take it easy over the holiday. I'm looking forward to a Monday spent by the pool rather than at my desk, and an evening back deck grill session rather than the typical Monday takeout routine. What do you have planned for Memorial Day? If you find yourself with some spare time, check out this week's more interesting medical news.

Weekend Wrap Up 5.20.16

Happy Friday, friends! How was your week? Mine has flown by so far, but it's not over yet. I jetted out of town early this morning for a weekend trip to NYC. My first stop in the city will be the Fox News studio to chat with Neil Cavuto live on air. Next, I plan to spend the afternoon hitting up a few shopping destinations followed by a lengthy dinner at my favorite New York Italian food joint. I can't wait. Finally, the weekend wouldn't be complete without an early Saturday morning stop at the Fox and Friends studio.

Weekly Wrap Up 5.13.16

Happy Friday! I hope you haven't found yourself hexed on this Friday the 13th. What's on your schedule for the next few days? This weekend I'm staying true to the Nashville spirit, heading to the historic Ryman Auditorium to catch Paul Simon in action. The Ryman is my favorite live music venue in Music City and I jump at any chance I get to see a legend perform. So, I'm counting down the hours to the weekend. If you could use some distraction to get through your Friday, check out this week's more interesting medical news.

Weekend Wrap Up 5.8.16

I kicked off last weekend with a double date. My husband and I enjoyed dinner with some of our most favorite friends. Our conversation centered around an Arianna Huffington talk the other couple had recently attended. Apparently, Arianna has made herself an expert on sleep, and is traveling the country spreading the message of her love for zzz's. Ironically, the following six nights I found myself painfully sleep deprived, the topic of our conversation taunting me periodically throughout the week.

Yay for Friday! I can't tell you how excited I am about this weekend. The sun is out, the temperature is perfect, my lawn is freshly mowed, and this outdoor-loving girl is happy. It's County Music Marathon weekend here in Nashville, TN. This year rather than running the race myself, I will be standing street side cheering on friends, mimosa in hand. It doesn't get better than (almost) summer weather and hometown weekend events. Looking for something to get you through to the weekend? Check out this week's medical news on the lighter side.
